Many local residents still talk about the original Chase House. Inquire, and you will probably learn that this restaurant, founded by Nathaniel S. Chase ("Judge" Chase to friends) server the finest seafood on the North Shore. This story has since become part of our local history, we re-establish the tradition that Mr. Chase began over 100 years ago.

Originally The Chase House sat 25; by the turn of the century, it was able to accommodate almost 200 diners. In 1902, Mr Chase retired, and in 1906, he passed away at the age of 76.

The Chase House was a landmark in Salem to both resident and tourist alike. It offered the very best in seafood, prepared and served with care. It is a pleasure for us to have Pickering Wharf as the new home of The Chase House since 1980.
